Acom Business UK Ltd.
Environmental Policy
Acom is one of the Premier Learning and Development Organisations in Wales specialising in Information Technology, Business and Management Solutions to over 500 companies. Our Learning Centre is fully equipped with state of the art Information Communications Technology and on-line learning facilities.
Through an Environmental Review we recognise that the adverse environmental impact from our activities, services and facilities is low and primarily concerns energy use for equipment and lighting. All at acom are aware of emissions of greenhouse gases associated with generating electricity from fossil fuels. We produce very small amounts of waste, however in the future we recognise that disposal of waste computers will be a significant impact and regulated under environmental legislation.
We recognise that communication throughout acom is essential for effective environmental management and at present this occurs through induction, informal discussion and e-mail. All within acom are committed to:
- Preventing pollution through workforce awareness of environmental issues and purchase of energy efficient equipment.
- Ensuring on-site practices comply with applicable environmental legislation.
- Developing and achieving action plans to continually improve environmental performance. This includes organising waste storage and disposal, segregating paper waste from general waste and recycling this resource that would ordinarily go to landfill.
